The agitation unit, based on TAA mechanical seal and also available in ATEX execution, is mainly used on glass reactors operating under vacuum or up to a maximum pressure of 0.5 bar, at a maximum temperature of 185°C achievable in the flushed and cooled seal version.
The seal consists of an aluminium “anti-corrosive” or stainless-steel carrying lantern with the bearings guide and a PTFE box containing the seal rings. The parts in contact with the process are coated with PTFE and the connection can be mounted on glass necks with ITIV / Schott / QVF DN25÷80 flange type and available in 4 models depending on the diameter shaft, which is machined from a hot-dip coated steel bar with virgin or antistatic PTFE.
The motor unit offers a choice between electric variable-speed drives or pneumatic motors depending on the volume to be agitated, while there are multiple options available for impellers of various kinds such as: turbines, Rushton turbine impellers, anchors, semi-anchors, scraping blades – custom which are made based on the process characteristics using PTFE or other compatible materials.
FL-FLH models can optionally be equipped with a flushing barrel for lantern cooling.
